Charlatans are to headline the MAIN STAGE at GLASTONBURY on the festival’s opening day, June 28.
The five-piece, hoping for success at the NME Carling Awards this afternoon are the first major act to confirm their place at Glastonbury. Radiohead, Starsailor, Strokes, Roger Waters and Rod Stewart have all been heavily mooted but none have admitted they will be there.
Also, Charlatans have confirmed they will headline the Isle Of Wight Festival, last held 30 years ago, on June 3. The band will be appearing at the one day ‘Rock Island’ event at Seaclose Park, Newport on the island. The festival runs from June 3-16.
