Prothoma Kadombini to launch on March 16
Bengali television show ‘Prothoma Kadombini’, based on Dr. Kadambini Ganguly’s life, is going to launch on March 16. Actress Solanki Roy will be seen playing the titular character in this upcoming show. ‘Prothoma Kadombini’ will be aired in the evening slot.

Interestingly, another rival channel is also going to launch a daily soap based on the life of first female medical practitioner in British-ruled India; he launch date is yet to be announced though. The show ‘Kadambini’ will star ‘Bokul Kotha’ fame actress Ushasi Ray.


Two leading Bengali television channels have locked horns over same content. Both of the channels wanted to launch shows based on Dr. Kadambini. The promo of Ushasi starrer show went on-air first while Prothoma Kadombini’s teaser was launched on the same day and it was titled as

‘Kadombini’. According to the industry sources, the name of the show starring Solanki was changed to ‘Prothoma Kadombini’ almost overnight.

Both the promos were quite impressive. The audiences were curious to know which show is going to launch first. It will be interesting to see when ‘Kadambini’ is launched by the other leading channel and which show scores better on the TRP charts.
