Feb 12, 2023If I had any concerns about how Metroid Prime would stand up in a modern lens, they were instantly dispelled by this remaster. This is legitimately one of the best looking and best playing games on the platform. It will make you look at your Switch and scream “You could do this the whole time?”. Metroid Prime Remastered is the most impressive remaster Nintendo has ever produced. It is loyal to the original in its re-working of its art, yet unafraid to push the absolute boundaries of those original designs. The underlying brilliance of Retro’s original masterpiece shines forth from this new shell, pristine as ever. This is the definitive release of one of the greatest video games ever made, and an incredible glimpse into the future of the Prime series.

Feb 11, 2023Exploration is only improved by the new dual-stick controls, which make navigating Metroid Prime Remastered's many platforming segments more intuitive. It's not only these straight upgrades to gameplay and graphics, but also the variety in control schemes and versatility of the Switch that make the game such a thorough and impressive remaster. The only downside to Metroid Prime Remastered is a slight disappointment that its two sequels do not accompany it.

Such is the quality of the original release, the gameplay holds up on its own accord, as some of the best in the genre, two decades later. It’s brought to a modern audience with completely overhauled high-definition textures across the entire game. It looks great and is so faithfully recreated, Metroid Prime Remastered is presented exactly how your nostalgic mind remembers it, for those who have been here before. Delivered with a modern control scheme that works very well, and excellent performance perfectly tailored to the ageing Nintendo Switch, Metroid Prime is one of the greatest games of all-time – now it’s also one of the best remasters ever made.

An exquisite remaster that respects to the maximum all the values of the original game, elevating it to adapt it to new times and to the control schemes of Nintendo Switch in its entirety. Although we would have liked to have seen some more original content, details like its gallery full of unlockables will delight fans.

Feb 10, 2023Metroid Prime was, is, and will continue to be an essential masterpiece that everyone with a modicum of interest and passion for this hobby should play at least once in their life, something that this new version vindicates with more force than ever thanks to to a spectacular graphical facelift and its multiple control options. We are not going to deny that the fact that it does not include its sequels has disappointed us a bit, but right now, few games you will find on Nintendo Switch or any other platform capable of rivaling this legendary adventure. Without a doubt, one of the best remasters ever made and an example to follow.
