St. Louis showed up in full force to watch the Battlehawks' first home game of the XFL season.

The league announced an XFL attendance record of 38,130 people at The Dome at America’s Center. They saw the home team improve to 3-1 with a 24-11 win over the Arlington Renegades.

St. Louis fans used the remarkable crowd as vindication against Stan Kroenke, who moved the Rams to Los Angeles in 2016.

"Not a Football town???" a fan asked on Twitter.

"St. Louis is still a football town," another fan claimed. "NFL should reconsider."

"I love seeing the enthusiasm St. Louis has for football," a fan said. "I really want to see the XFL succeed."

"The Battlehawks continue to serve as a giant middle finger to the NFL and I'm here for it," another fan wrote.

Three years ago, 29,554 people showed up for the Battlehawks' home debut, which marked the first football game in St. Louis since the Rams left.

Fans remain eager for football in St. Louis, eclipsing its own XFL record. The Battlehaws announced a sellout Sunday morning.

Perhaps the NFL will pay attention if spring football remains popular in St. Louis.
