After going two years without a greenlight while at Sony Pictures, producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall are in negotiations to move their Kennedy/Marshall banner to DreamWorks, which has offered them a first-look deal.
Kennedy and Marshall will reunite with Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider at DreamWorks, which has been faced with financial difficulties in the wake of “Cowboys & Aliens'” disappointing performance at the box office earlier this year, making the production pact all the more surprising.
The husband-and-wife producing team have a long history with Spielberg, having worked with him on “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Jurassic Park.”
Kennedy, who has credits on Spielberg’s next two films — “The Adventures of Tintin” and “War Horse” — is currently producing the helmer’s “Lincoln,” likely to be a major player during next year’s awards season.
Marshall is currently producing Tony Gilroy’s “The Bourne Legacy” for Universal.
