Abbas Lesani Faces New Charges in Shiray Prison

HRANA News Agency – Abbas Lesani exiled prisoner in Shiraz prison was interrogated and arraigned about alleged new accusations in the Revolutionary Court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Turkish activist Abbas Lesani, who is serving his sentence in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz  was tried by the general court of Shiraz on April 9, at Branch 6 presided by Judge Zare.
His charges which were put on him on behalf of the Public and Revolutionary Court in Ardebil city are: “propaganda against the regime and befitting the opposition groups and organisations opposed to the regime and contrary to the territorial integrity in order to gain the independence of Azerbaijan by preparing and sharing his audio files to stimulate the expression of extreme ethnicity or Panturkists in order to create chaos and illegal protests.”
Abbas Lesani who had not participated in any of the 3 trials because of disobedience of the Article 168 of the constitution of the notion of public hearings, was sentenced to one year in prison on April 24, 2015 by the verdict of the Revolutionary Court in Ardebil presided by Judge Asadpour.
Mr. Lesani was arrested and imprisoned in numerous records, the last time he was arrested in the city of Ardabil on September 8, 2011, because of protesting against the drying of Lake Urmia, on charges of propaganda against the state and the formation of groups to disturb the national security.
