Saints Study Support Centre was established as part of the Playing for Success initiative in September 1999. In its first year it was based at Southampton Football Club's Dell stadium in the Shirley area of the city with teaching being carried out at the adjacent Springhill School. In the autumn of 2001 the club moved to the St Mary's Stadium and the Pfs programme was initially delivered from the Players' lounge with ICT provided at the nearby ITEC facility.
