CSM Jason C. Silsby
Command Sergeant Major Jason C. Silsby was born at Lancaster, New Hampshire.
He enlisted in the United States Army upon graduating from Concord High School, Concord, Vermont in 1986 and completed Basic Training and Advanced
Individual Training at Fort Benning Georgia Sergeant Major has served in the Army over 20 years in the
Army with a Varity of assignment which include light and Mechanized assignments
throughout the United States and overseas, which include A Company, 5th
Battalion, 20th Infantry (M), Korea; A Company 1st Battalion,
187th Infantry, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; B Company and HHC, 4th
Battalion, 9th Infantry, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; A Company, 5th
Ranger Training Battalion, Dahlonega, Georgia; B Company and HHC, 1st
Battalion, 17th Infantry, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Joint Readiness
Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana; B Company and HHC, 2nd Battalion,
22nd Infantry, Fort Drum, New York; 2nd Battalion, 9th
Infantry, Korea.
CSM Silsby has held leadership positions ranging from Team
Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Ranger Instructor, Observer Controller,
First Sergeant and Command Sergeant Major.
His military education includes Airborne, Air Assault, Pathfinder,
Jungle Tracking and Survival ( Malaysia ), Ranger, Primary, Basic,
Advance, First Sergeant and United States Army Sergeants Major Course.
His awards and decorations include Bronze Star, Meritorious
Service Medal (4), Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (2),
Good Conduct Medal (6), National Defense Service Medal,
Global War on Terrorism and Expeditionary Medals, Noncommissioned Officer Development
Ribbon (4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4). He has earned
the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Pathfinder Badge and
Air Assault Badge.
