Her precious cargo! Hilary Swank takes her rescue dogs with her as she jets off to Paris

She couldn't leave them behind.

Hilary Swank turned up with her two rescue dogs ready to catch a flight out of Los Angeles International Airport on Friday.

The 39-year-old had her Golden Retriever mix Rumi and Beagle-terrier cross Kai on leads as they walked across the concourse. Both dogs had scarves tied jauntily around their necks, Rumi's in pink and Kai's in blue.

The double Oscar-winning actress was less colourfully dressed than her mutts. She went for a warm black coat over a white shirt, black skinny jeans and black booties.

Her long brunette tresses were left to hang freely around her shoulders and face, and she didn't appear to be wearing any makeup for the flight.

A male friend helped her with the dogs and luggage at LAX and an Air France flight attendant accompanied them as they walked through the airport.

Hilary was probably on her way to visit her French real estate developer beau, Laurent Fleury.

The actress has been dating the 38-year-old for about 15 months and is reportedly sharing the father-of-two's Paris apartment and spending time with his children.

The Million Dollar Baby star began seeing Laurent after her six-year relationship to her agent, John Campisi ended in 2012.

She was previously married to Rob Lowe’s younger brother Chad Lowe for 10 years after meeting him on the set of Quiet Days In Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Hilary will next be seen in period drama The Homesman starring opposite Tommy Lee Jones in the film about a claim jumper and a pioneer woman who team up to escort three insane women from Nebraska to Iowa.

it will premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France in May.

She told the Inquirer: ‘I was on the prairie for 60 days. My character (Mary Bee Cuddy) is a farmer — I plow the fields and pump for water. My hands are all beat up.’

The star is also starring alongside Emmy Rossum and Josh Duhamel in the drama, You’re Not You, in which she plays a terminally ill woman. The film is due for release this year.
