'I don't think there's anything cool about being an a**hole': Miles Teller slams Esquire for calling him a 'd**k' in new interview

Miles Teller just landed the cover of Esquire, but he's not too happy with what's inside the pages of the magazine's new issue.

The 28-year-old took to Twitter on Wednesday to slam the publication for describing him as 'kind of a d**k'.

Miles shared: '@esquire couldn't be more wrong. I don't think there's anything cool or entertaining about being a dick or an asshole. Very misrepresenting.'

'Misrepresenting': Miles Teller is not happy about his interview with Esquire, which came out on Wednesday

It came after Esquire posted their interview on the social networking site, along with the words: 'Miles Teller is on a quest for greatness (with a bit of d**kishness too).'

Miles's Fantastic Four co-stars were also quick to defend him. Kate Mara tweeted: 'My movie husband @Miles_Teller is crazy talented and a truly fantastic person.'

Jamie Bell described him as a 'great actor and guy', while Michael B. Jordan added: '@Miles_Teller is my boy and I'm a great judge of character.'

In the interview, Miles is quoted as saying that he knows people think he is 'ugly'.

'I was thinking about that today, how I probably think I'm better-looking than the public thinks I am," the Fantastic Four star said, according to Esquire with 'confidence and a laugh'.

Miles went on:'I was in one of these forums about a film I did, and it's like, "This dude is so ugly! How does he get f***ing parts?" "Well, he's not, like, traditionally handsome, but…"

'And that's kind of what it is. Maybe it's because I came from a small town, but I always did well for myself.'

Miles is certainly still doing well for himself, and is currently dating model Keleigh Sperry.

The actor's stunning girlfriend, 22, was by his side at the New York City premiere of Fantastic Four on Tuesday night.

The following morning, the happy couple were seen relaxing together on a bench in Washington Square Park while listening to a live band.

It seems Miles was trying to put the Esquire article to the back of his mind.

During the interview, he also talked about the 2007 car accident that nearly killed him and left him covered in scars after he was thrown 30 feet from a speeding car.

'I got a lot of laser surgery on my face, like what they use for getting rid of tattoos. Like, very painful,' he told Esquire.

The car he was a passenger in was being driven by his junior-year roommate at New York University but, he says, it was an accident and he never blamed his friend for what happened.

The friendship ultimately didn't survive the incident, though. 'I was racking up all these medical bills, so we had to sue his insurance because he was driving. It's not like we're suing HIM; we're suing his insurance,' the actor recounted.

The guy ended their friendship because the claim led to an increase in his parents' insurance premiums. Miles says he brooded over it for 24 hours then moved on.

In 2008, the Whiplash actor lost two of his best friends in car accidents, five weeks apart.

'I was in the hospital when they pulled the plug on my one friend. I knew what it felt like to hug a mother the day she lost her son,' he said.

Miles stars as Mr. Fantastic in the Fantastic Four reboot, which hits cinemas on Friday. It currently holds a 19% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
