Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina impressed many with her strong performance in the second presidential debate, as she railed passionately against Planned Parenthood and outlined her hardline views on foreign policy.
But she showed off a lighter side during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, making jokes about Vladimir Putin and comparing him to fellow GOP candidate Donald Trump.
Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO who has jumped to second-place in several public opinion polls, ends her appearance on the show by sharing a song she'd made up about her lazy dog, Snickers, who would prefer to sleep than take walks.

'When I started this race, nobody knew who I was': While hitting some funny notes in the interview, Fiorina also speaks seriously about her rise and why people have come to like her
'My name's Snick and you're going to have to carry me,' she sang to the tune of 'Rock Around the Clock,' earning loud applause.
Fiorina, one of a long list of Republican hopefuls, has been working to introduce herself to a broader group of voters.
She also took several jabs at current GOP front-runner Donald Trump, including comparing him to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Fallon said: 'Donald Trump has recently said that Vladimir Putin is saying he wants to meet with Trump when he comes here. And that he wants to sit down and have a conversation with him. You've met Putin.'
Fiorina replied: 'I have.'
'The two of them have a lot in common, actually,' she said of Trump, drawing laughs from the crowd.
'But, we'll just leave it at that.'

Fiorina talked about meeting Putin while the two were waiting to speak at an event in Beijing.
She described Putin as 'a formidable adversary,' who was 'bursting out of the buttons of his shirt,' but could be 'quite funny and charming.'
'He's very confident.
'He actually can be quite funny and charming, but he's a KGB guy.
'You know, we should never forget this.
'He lusts for power and he's gathered up a lot of it.
'And he's a very bad actor and it's a very bad thing that his fighter jets and his soldiers are sitting in Syria right now.'

Both Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton were recent guests on The Tonight Show.
Possible Democrat candidate Joe Biden visited The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Republican candidate and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush also stopped by The Late Show earlier this month.
Fiorina explained her rapid rise in the polls recently after winning last weeks debate.
'When I started this race, nobody knew who I was—honestly,' she said.
'Most people, 90 percent plus of the American people, had never heard my name, didn't know I was running for president, so I had to work really hard to introduce myself.
'That happy hour debate gave me the first opportunity.
'Obviously, last week gave me the second opportunity. When people get to know me, they tend to support me—that's what you see in the polls.'
Fiorina went on to tell more of her trajectory, which has been a major part of her campaign.
'I started as a secretary, typing and filing for a nine person real estate firm,' she told Fallon.
'It's only in this country that you can go from being a secretary, to the chief executive of the largest technology company in world, and run for president of the United States.
'It's only possible here.'
Fallon asked Fiorina what she thought about the recent comments made by Republican presidential contender Ben Carson that a Muslim could not be president.
'Well, I think that's wrong,' Fiorina said.
Controversial: Carly Fiorina is running for president even though she has never held a political office
Fiorina continued: 'It says in our Constitution that religion cannot be a test for office. It's also true that this country is founded on the principle that we judge each individual and that anyone of any faith is welcome here.
'I actually believe that people of faith make better leaders, whether they're Christians, as I am
'My faith has sustained me through some very bad times.
'I battled cancer, I've lost a child. I've been tested. But whether it's a person of Christian faith, or Jewish faith, or Muslim faith, or other faiths, I think faith gives us humility and empathy and optimism, and I think those are important things.'
Fallon then asked whether Fiorina would be ok with a Muslim president.
'Yes, I would be fine with that,' she replied.
