CHARLOTTE GRIFFITHS' IRRESISTIBLE SOCIAL DIARY: Lindsay Lohan spells trouble as she's about to turn 30

Lindsay Lohan may be about to turn 30, but she's still throwing teenage tantrums. The Mean Girls actress was furious last week because her place card at a dinner at Mayfair club Morton's spelled her name with an 'e' rather than an 'a'.

Lindsay was seemingly so offended she abandoned her host and moved to another table, leaving behind the card which I snapped. Needless to say Lindsay – who still looked stroppy when she left Morton's, right – didn't foot the bill for her meal at the event, which was thrown by Italian jewellers Damiani.

Pick up a tweed coat like Lindsay

Lindsay Lohan, out at a Damiani jewelry event in London on Tuesday, looking demure in a tweed jacket by Chanel and sky-high Louboutin boots.

Tweed is a perennial favorite in the fall and an iconic fabric in the U.K. and Ireland. And, of course, Chanel resuscitates its famous tweed boucle jacket pretty much every season.

So it's no wonder Lindsay's, which hails from the Parisian house's resort collection way back in 2006, still looks relevant today. For the most part, you can't buy Lindsay's jacket online, but click right and you may be able to score a vintage one. Alternatively, check out Chanel's current collection on its website.

If spending that kind of dough isn't in the cards for you, see below. We've uncovered a beautiful collarless tweed coat at Gilt for only $89 as well as a double-breasted tweed luxury coat at Yoox for a palatable $250.

One of the butlers at a lavish party last week thrown by US Ambassador Matthew Barzun looked strangely familiar.

After doing a double-take, I realised that the man expertly holding a tray of bubbly was none other than Mr Selfridge star Jeremy Piven.

The handsome actor told me that he has gone teetotal during filming of the final series of the hit ITV drama, but he doesn't mind handing out booze – if only to get a whiff of the stuff.

Boris Johnson may know about everything from the Heathrow expansion to Ancient Rome, but he was totally baffled when he tried to take a selfie with Geri Halliwell.

In fact, the former Spice Girl had to take over – as my own photo shows – telling Boris: 'Here, I'll show you how to do it!' Flustered and star-struck, all BoJo could utter in response was: 'This is a legendary moment for me – I am meeting Geri Halliwell.' Her reply? 'It's Geri Horner now, thank you!'

The singer is preparing to release a folk album next year under her new name – she married Red Bull F1 boss Christian Horner over the summer.
