'I fell head over heels for him': Joey Feek shares touching story of meeting husband Rory 14 years ago as singer continues to battle terminal cancer
As Joey Feek approaches the end of her battle with terminal cancer, the country singer has shared the touching story of meeting her husband Rory almost 14 years ago.
‘Rory was singing 'In the Round' at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville with three other songwriters,’ Joey told People magazine of the fateful day she laid eyes on Rory in 2002. ‘I was just one of dozens of people in the audience that night. From the first song Rory sang, I fell head over heels for him.’
Fans of the Grammy-nominated couple Joey+Rory will learn more about their life together in the February 12 release of their final album, Hymns That Are Important to Us.

Happier days: The couple documents before and after Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014 in their upcoming album
It is a deeply personal tribute that documents before and after she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014.
Recalling her feelings after first meeting Rory, Joey told People: ‘I didn't even know him, but something inside me said, 'You're going to marry that man and spend the rest of your lives together.’’
That album's February 12 release is three days before the couple compete for a Grammy in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category with their song If I Needed You.
Story time: The 40-year-old reads to her daughter Indiana on January 5
February is also a big month for the pair as it is when Indiana will turn two, a milestone Joey has said she hopes to be around for despite her prognosis.
Joey, 40, had appeared to be defying the odds after being given six months to live last October, making remarkable progress over the past few weeks despite being told she would be bedridden for the remainder of her life in late November.
She got out of bed in December and then began to walk again, all things that seemed impossible just weeks before, and even got to spend Christmas with her family near her childhood home in Alexandria, Indiana.
The mother-of-one hopes to see her daughter turn two next month despite her prognosis
