The National Veterans Golden Age Games is the premier senior adaptive rehabilitation program in the United States, and the only national multi-event sports and recreational seniors’ competition program designed to improve the quality of life for all older Veterans, including those with a wide range of abilities and disabilities. The VA Challenges and encourages senior Veterans to be proactive in embracing a healthier lifestyle.
The games are open to Veterans, ages 55 or older, who receive health care from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

2016 NVGAG MEDICAL APPLICATION
Athletes interested in participating in the 2016 National Veterans Golden Age Games must have their Primary Care Physician complete and sign the 2016 NVGAG Medical Application. Instructions for properly submitting the Medical Application are included on page 1 of the form. This form must be received by the 2016 NVGAG host VA Medical Center no later than March 4, 2016 . NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE WITHOUT THE COMPLETED MEDICAL FORM ON FILE.

Volunteers donating their time and talents are essential to the success of this event. Several thousand opportunities will be available to help with everything from sporting events to hospitality services. Events will take place at COBO Convention Center, Belle Isle, Wayne State University, Thunderbird and Skore bowling lanes and Lakes of Taylor Golf Club. Opportunities will also available to assist at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and downtown Detroit hotels. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire duration of the volunteer shift.
