Captivating footage (left) has emerged of the last known survivor of an Amazonian tribe murdered by farmers over two decades ago. Known as 'the indigenous man in the hole', the tribesman has been captured on video by Government officials in the Brazilian state of Rondonia. They first discovered he was there in 1996 and believe he was left to live alone after the five other members of his tribe were killed in an attack on his land by farmers the year before. He has only been captured on film once before in 1998, for a Brazilian documentary Corumbiara (bottom right). Now he has been filmed again half naked ferociously trying to fell a tree in his 8,070-hectare jungle garden, where he sleeps in a hut made of trees (pictured top right) and spends most of his time hunting forest pigs, birds and monkeys with a bow and arrow. Funai, Brazil's Government agency for indigenous affairs, have been monitoring his behaviour since they first found him 21 years ago, but because of strict policies limiting interaction with uncontacted tribesmen they do not know his name or the name of his tribe.

Flights into Gatwick are diverted after plane performs emergency landing at London

Hundreds of passengers were left stranded at the wrong airport this morning after eight flights into Gatwick were diverted when a plane was forced to perform an emergency landing due to a hydraulic fluid leak. The diverted passengers were plunged into travel chaos this morning on Frantic Friday - one of the busiest days of the year when schools break up and millions of families hop on planes for a summer getaway.
