Michelle Williams and Julianne Moore are caught in the middle of a dark secret in first trailer for remake of Danish classic After The Wedding

The first trailer for the English-language remake of the Oscar-nominated 2006 Danish film - After The Wedding - teases a love triangle.

The drama stars Michelle Williams and Julianne Moore who are caught in the middle of a dark secret with Moore's on-screen husband, Billy Crudup.      

By the end of the trailer Williams's character, Isabel, can be heard offering a stern warning: 'You tell her, or I will.'

The teaser begins with shots of Isabel sharing a touching moment with one of the children at the orphanage she manages in Kolkata, India. 

'With your imagination you can create anything,' she can be heard saying to the young boy. 

But the feelgood music and theme quickly transforms and focuses on the orphanage's desperate need for funds and supplies.

With the needs of the children paramount, Isabel seeks the help of a New York-based Media mogul named Theresa (Moore), who offers a generous grant, but with the stipulation that Isabel must travel thousands of miles to meet in person.

The teaser then paints a picture of heightened stress and mystery between three main characters. 

During a scene in a restaurant Theresa raises her martini glass to her lips and seductively asks Isabel: 'Was it strange to see Oscar again? He’s a good-looking man now, but, back then, he must've really been something.'

Later Isabel confesses to Oscar that she doesn't trust his wife, and suspects that she has ulterior motives in offering $20 million to improve the orphanage. 

'What does she want?' Isabel asks.

The original 2006 Danish movie by Susanne Bier received an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. 

Brad Freundlich, Moore's real-life husband, is directing the remake.
