Institutional Effectiveness
Our office generates and disseminates official data on select topics for use by the SUNY Plattsburgh community and beyond. Internal data is used to assist university policy makers and planners in the quest for continuous quality improvement. Our office also coordinates the submission of mandated SUNY Systems Administration reports while providing data to external publications (U.S. News, etc.)

Who Are We?
Erin Campbell, Research Associate
Erin joined the staff in July 2013 and previously worked in SUNY Plattsburgh’s Office of Institutional Advancement for six years. She received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Saint Rose in 2001 and her master’s degree in administration and leadership from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2009.
Sara Phillips, Director
Sara Phillips joined the office in 2018. She is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton, having earned her bachelor and masters degree in anthropology there, before earning a Ph.D. in the same field at Tulane University. She enjoys bringing the anthropological perspective to issues of effectiveness, and still teaches the occasional course.
Our Mission
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness serves as a resource to the university community providing systematic, timely, user-friendly official data and research services that can be used to enhance effective decision making, prepare mandated reports, and to measure institutional effectiveness.
