According to TMZ, Lacey was Mariah's only request before she agreed to direct the movie, as the 33-year-old actress played her favourite character from her best-loved flick.
Filming is already underway for the project, having kicked off in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Tuesday.
But while the singing sensation is trying her hand at directing, it seems acting is still a no go for the star.
