5/2 to 5/3 - Build drainage connections south of Pike St intersection
5/4 - Manhole reconstruction at Pike St intersection

Union St to Madison St

5/2 to 5/4 -Reconstruction of two manholes just north of Madison St

Weekend Work:

Howell St to Pine St

5/5 - Build inlet connections for storm system at SCCC crosswalk
5/5 to 5/6 - Manhole reconstruction and drainage connections at Pine St intersection

Pike St to Union St

5/5 to 5/6 - Build inlet connections for storm at Union St

Work Hours: Work will take place Wednesday through Sunday. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. weekdays, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturdays and 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sundays. Loud impact work under a noise variance, including concrete breaking, may begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays.

What to Expect During This Week's Construction:

On street parking and loading restrictions
One travel lane in each direction
Pedestrian detours
Construction noise, dust and increased truck activity
Bus stops and transit routes will not be affected this week
Dates of work are subject to change due to weather

Construction Preparation and Median Removal
Expect loss of parking and a mid-block crosswalk closure on Broadway between Howell St and Pine St

Weekday Work: April 26th - April 27th
Broadway - Howell St to Pine St

Initial delivery of equipment, materials and traffic control devices
Remove irrigation system from median
Saw cut roadway in preparation for median removal and utility relocation.

Weekend Work: April 28th - April 29th
Broadway - Howell St to Pine St

Remove trees from traffic median
Demolish and remove median
Rebuild manholes in future trackway

Construction on Broadway Starts Week of April 23rd
Prepare for lane closures, parking restrictions, and night and weekend work

Construction is beginning on Seattle Streetcar' First Hill Line. The first step in this two-year long project will be underground utilities work. Water, drainage, gas service, and electrical ducts near the track will be relocated or protected. The next step, beginning this June, will be track installation.

Reconstruction of manholes
Installation of drainage inlets
Installation of an electric duct bank at Pine

4/10/2012: Construction on the First Hill Streetcar Line will start in late April. The first step in this two-year project will be underground utilities work. Water and electrical lines near the track will be relocated or protected, and several new stormwater detention facilities and electrical ducts will be installed.
