Traditional Values Coalition's Chairman Rev. Louis P. Sheldon has been on numerous TV news and nationwide radio programs and has been quoted in newspapers throughout the U.S. on Arnold Schwarzenegger's bid for governor's office in Sacramento.
Rev. Sheldon was most recently quoted in The Wall Street Journal (August 13, 2003), on Schwarzenegger's run for Gray Davis's post. According to Rev. Sheldon, "We feel that the long-range damage of letting him [Schwarzenegger] define what is a Republican and what is a conservative, and trying to tie it to Ronald Reagan, is just ludicrous. I just can't stand by and let it happen."
Rev. Sheldon was also on CNN with John King on August 12, 2003 to discuss the Schwarzenegger effort to win the governor's office. He told King, "…we have to go on record. …. You know he's an antithesis to the President on the gay marriage issue. He's an antithesis concerning the abortion issue."
Rev. Sheldon continued: "I'm not trying to damage Mr. Schwarzenegger's character or anything. I'm only trying to say the Republican philosophy of conservative principles is being damaged." Sheldon was also on Fox News with Neil Cavuto to discuss Scharzenegger's candidacy.
Through a subsidiary of the TVC Victory Fund, Rev. Sheldon has organized Californians for Moral Government (CMG) to challenge Arnold Schwarzenegger on his positions on abortion, homosexuality, and other moral concerns.
CMG published a list of ten questions that reporters and voters should ask of Schwarzenegger. They include questions about his views on abortion, homosexuality, and cross-dressing/transsexualism.
TVC's web site has more details on the CMG's efforts and includes an editorial on Schwarzenegger from columnist Cal Thomas.
