SCHWARZENEGGER CAN BECOME LEADER - MUST REPUDIATE AMORAL POLICIES
Los Angeles -- Californians for Moral Government sent a message today to Governor-elect
Arnold Schwarzenegger asking him to reconsider some of the positions he has taken
in the past regarding abortion and the homosexual agenda.
"First of all, I want to congratulate Arnold Schwarzenegger on his impressive
victory.
"I know I speak for many religious conservatives in California who hope and
pray that Gov. Schwarzenegger will think and act differently than actor Schwarzenegger
or candidate Schwarzenegger," said Rev. Louis P. Sheldon.
Rev. Sheldon pointed to Sen. Tom McClintock's substantial showing in the vote
and suggested that religious conservatives will continue to play an important
role in California politics.
"Religious conservatives were torn between voting for a solid conservative
like Senator McClintock and the almost unthinkable alternative of a continuation
of the long darkness of Gray Davis or the new darkness of Bustamante.
"So, many settled for Mr. Schwarzenegger.
"We don't see this as any sort of victory for so-called "Big Tent"
or RINO Republicans.
"We hope to work with Mr. Schwarzenegger and his staff to formulate public
policy which reverses the anti-Christian bias of the Davis years.
"I look forward to the election of 2004 where good and evil will be separated
and clearly defined.
"I am pleased that President Bush has continued to be the advocate-in-chief
for strong traditional values and against the evil of abortion."
