On September 11, 2003, our nation will mourn the second anniversary of the Islamist terrorist attack upon America. We should remember those who died as heroes in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the Pennsylvania field where men like Todd Beamer fought with terrorists to keep them from completing their deadly mission. (To donate to the Todd Beamer Foundation, click here: http://www.beamerfoundation.org.)
We should also remember that the war against terrorism is not over and that there are still domestic and foreign terrorists who are working to destroy our nation.
The White House web site contains numerous articles on the state of our national security and what still needs to be done to defeat this Islamist threat. To learn more about what the Bush Administration is doing to fight terrorism, access the White House National Security web site: National Security.
Islamist expert Daniel Pipes also has regularly updated information on the terrorist threat. His latest report indicates that Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) will be a guest speaker at the Council on Islamic Relations (CAIR) 7th Annual Banquet in Los Angeles on October 4, 2003.
Pipes has shown that CAIR has links to international terrorism, but this evidence apparently is of little concern to Kucinich, who is a radical leftist and New Ager. A web site called "Muslims for Kucinich," published an article from The Seattle Times about his leftist and occultic ideas. Access Daniel Pipes' web site: danielpipes.org.
Another excellent source of information on terrorism and national security is the Center for Security Policy, headed by former Reagan Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy. Elaine Donnelly's Center for Military Readiness is also a reliable source for defense and security information.
WorldNetDaily reported on September 11, 2003 that the associate imam (similar to a pastor) at a large Islamic mosque in Washington, DC, has likened the 9/11 hijackers as no different than Marines fighting and dying for America in Iraq and Afghanistan. Johari Malik made these statements earlier this year in defense of the mosque's former cleric, Anwar Aulaqi who is under FBI investigation.
